Occupational Health Referral

We have an employee on long-term sickness absence, how can Ipsum Health help?

The first stage is to assess the cause of the absence. This involves the employee attending an appointment with a qualified Occupational Health advisor so they can generate a report relating to the cause of absence. This report will also be used to suggest a potential return to work date and any possible changes that would need to be made in the workplace to assist the employee's recovery.

How do we refer an employee to Ispum health?

Simply complete the contact form below and we will email you a copy of our referral template. Alternatively, please contact us if you would like to use your own template. Once you have completed and returned the templated we can arrange a suitable appointment. In our referral document you are given an opportunity to outline the employee's current situation. We will automatically answer a number of standard questions relating to the employee's absence. However, if you also have your own questions, we ask that you include these prior to the appointment as part of the referral.

What happens Next?

The employee will attend the appointment that has been arranged for them and the Occupational Health doctor will discuss all of the issues relating to their absence. Based on this assessment, the doctor will generate a report that will offer advice, workplace adjustments and likely return to work schedule. Employees are given a chance to state when this report is delivered back to the employers. The employee can request to immediately release the report without receiving their own copy. They can release the report at the same time as receiving their own copy or the employee can request that they review the report 2 days prior to their employers. Because the employee can request the report via post, 2 days prior to it being sent to the employees, we would say that the maximum turn-around time of a report would be 5 working days. However, in most cases, reports are returned to the employers in under this time frame.
